General Info

The Law Enforcement Legal Reporter (LELR) is a subscriber based monthly e-mail publication written by Richard J. Chrystie, (Deputy District Attorney, Retired). Each issue summarizes the latest criminal case decisions of The U.S. Supreme Court, The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the California Supreme Court and the California Courts of Appeal. The LELR is an excellent resource for peace officers, criminal justice instructors, prosecutors and judges to keep up to date on changing case law. PLEASE NOTE: THE LELR HAS BEEN IN CONTINUOUS PUBLICATION FOR 42 YEARS BUT WILL CEASE PUBLICATION WITH THE DECEMBER 2017 ISSUE. After working in law enforcement in various capacities for almost 50 years, I have decided that it is time to move on to other endeavors without the pressure of researching and writing a monthly publication. I appreciate all my loyal readers and subscribers who have kept the LELR in business. I can assure you that I will continue to research and write the LELR in the same relevant and easily readable manner for the remaining months of its publication. Thank you!
