- Carpet CleaningThere is a lot to be said about residue in carpet, and what effects it can have on the appearance of the carpet, both right after cleaning and much later. The most common residue that we deal with when we clean carpet is soap. That's right, soap. A lot of time this is in the form of that spiffy little bottle of carpet cleaning solution you picked up at the store.
- Upholstery CleaningI left NCR after a few years and went into real estate sales, where I ended up becoming a home builder. When interest rates hit over 17% in the late seventies, I moved into the remodeling business. We also owned and operated a cabinetmaking business until 1990. However, in 1985 I decided to take the plunge, and I started a networking carpet and upholstery cleaning/restoration business. I've been doing that for 30 years now. There will be continual updates added to perfection-carpet.com to make it one of the most complete information centers about carpet and upholstery cleaning on the Internet / Web. We will be including many new links so please stay tuned for updates...

- Steam CleaningWith the advent of the truck mounted steam cleaning systems, the heavy equipment can now stay out in the truck and the techncian only need bring hoses into the house. These extraction systems offer the most power in this type of cleaning system. However, the technician can become overconfident when using this truck mount and hurry too fast over the cleaning surface, leaving excessive moisture and residues along with it. This leads to a quick re-soiling of the carpet within just a few days, because the excessive moisture left behind contained suspend soil. When the surface finally dried, a wicking action occurs which draws any particles of soiling to the top of the face yarns of the carpet or upholstery. When this occurs, it looks as if the carpet or upholstery had never been cleaned. This is caused when the technician is in too big of a hurry.
