We used him for over 15 years to care for our multiple cats over the years. Because of having 3 or more cats at a time, it helped so much to have a vet visit for checkups, rather than hauling cat carriers. As stated in other reviews, he was very gentle and always took extra time to help make our cats feel less anxious. I had one cat who liked him so much, he would take a flying jump from the floor to his shoulders. When one of our cats developed hyperthyroidism, he was very thorough in explaining treatment options and the cost and benefits of the two treatment options. When it's come time to put one of our animals to sleep, he first administers an anti-anxiety shot before stressing the animal out with dying. He allowed us alone time to grieve before taking our cat to be cremated. The only reason why I'm not using him now is that I've moved out of his service area.

Dr. Ruotsinoja is by far the most compassionate, kindest vet I have ever had for my pets.Today my beloved Josie, suffering from kidney failure was euthanized. Dr. R could not have been kinder to my sometimes cantankerous little feline. She did not suffer but went gently into death.Thank you so much for caring for her in her last illness.

Dr. Ruotsinoja has helped keep my 16 year old kitty happy and healthy many times. Jasmine, my cat, doesn't travel well and having home care certainly helps her stress level when she doesn't feel good. Dr. Ruotsinoja is patient and very gentle with both kitty and with talking to to Mom :).

Our family dog was ailing over a period of several months. Dr. Ruotsinoja was understanding about our concerns, our waffling on her health and her hospice care. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful person to help us through the incredibly difficult time. We decided he is our number one choice in vets and our animals agree!

I wish we had discoverd Dr. Routsinoja sooner, but am so greatful that he was there for us in the end. He was kind and gentle and our 16 year old dog was not afraid of him at all when we had to put her down. I did not want her last experience to be in fear at the vets office and it was not. She drifted off gently in her own home. He was so gentle with our dog and our whole family in a very difficult situation. I learned how valuable a home visit is and will go that route for regular vet needs too in the future when possible.

Dr. Routsinoja is a superb vet. Very knowledgeable. Calms and respects both animal and human. Listens and integrates human information in his diagnosis and treatment plan for animals. House call service is just a bonus with this vet. His true value is his connection to and compassion for patients. My only regret is that I did not discover him when my dear dog was alive, but he provided excellent care for her two cats.

We called Dr Ruotsinoja to put our 17 year old Golden down comfortably at home and were so impressed by his compassion and thoroughness we retained him for the care of our two cats.

He was caring and sensitive. He gently and fully explained in advance what to expect. He made our last moments with our dear kitty boys - a very touching experience. Rather than being hauled off to some vet clinic (their WORST fear) - our cats were able to gently go to sleep in their own home as I stroked them and looked in their eyes. Dr. Steve's compassion and professionalism helped us through this very difficult experience. We highly recommend him for your cat in life and in death.

Dr. Ruotsinoja is a serious, careful, doctor who is able to take a comprehensive look at my cat's health. He listened to me, assesed my cat, and recommended courses of action.
