My favorite..love the hibachi....the only improvement I could think of would be the soup...it lacks flavor.

Miyako has now become my favorite restaurant!! There's so many different options on the menu whether you're at the hibachi grill or wanting sushi or some traditional japanese plates. I've always loved sushi so I was pretty excited to try a new place, but wary because of my high expectations for sushi to qualify as even satisfactory. However, every roll and piece of fish that I put into my mouth was absolutely delicious! Even their nigiri and sashimi was much better than anything I've had before. The sushi rice was also impressive since I've found that to be the hardest thing for sushi spots to perfect. Other entrees, like the Katsu, were equally delicious with fresh chicken and vegtables. It's nice to finally find a restaurant that puts a lot of effort into their top quality ingrediants and all for a very reasonable price.

Although the hibachi is worth going for, the sushi is not. The hibachi is satisfying and entertaining-- 5 stars. However, the sushi was less than par. I have tried many sushi places from all over the nation, but not many In lexington. I pray there are places better than this in Lex. The fish was not fresh. Even rolls meant to cover up fishy tastes with cooked products had fishy tastes and were made with lower quality ingredients. Please do not take this review the wrong way; I am not trying to bash this place. The service was great and they are willing to take suggestions. If you are looking for sub-par or mediocre sushi this place is fine, but if you want something a little above average I suggest you look elsewhere. My experience may have just been one of the few bad ones they have to offer as I have heard so many good things about miyako. Yet, it could be some people just don't know the difference between good sushi and the stuff you buy from kroger. I suggest going for hibachi.
