A+ for Dump Store Case Goods manager Jeffery Richardson

I made a 3k purchase on Dec 20th 2014. When the items were delivered some had to be assembled. The delivery people damaged 2 of the pieces during assembly. After going through the run around with the customer service number, sending emails with pictures and a repair person coming out I was told it would be Jan 30 before the damaged pieces could be repaired or replaced. In the mean time i would have to deal with my living room looking like a whirlwind hit it! Needless to say I was livid and this just was not acceptable. I drove back out to the Dump store to talk to someone face to face. That someone was the store Case Goods manager Mr. Jeffrey Richardson. I must say that I was not happy but I was pleasantly surprised by Mr Richardson's professionalism and demeanor. Once he understood what the problem was he very quickly and professionally worked to resolve it by swapping out my damaged pieces and getting me a date for the swap in as little as 3 days. Thank you Mr Jeffrey Richardson and if I continue to be a customer of the Dump it's because of you. You demonstrated the best level of customer service that I have encountered in quite some time.

BUYER BEWARE! Bought a sectional and a kitchen table/chairs at the Dump. When it showed up, it was both damaged (tears in the fabric) and defective (structurally misaligned so the fabric could not attach in the back). Showed the delivery person the damage, but he said I would have to call customer service. Called "customer service". They came out to fix or replace the chairs for my kitchen table (which were also badly scratched) and "repair" the sectional. I showed them the defect and how it couldn't be repaired and said I wanted it replaced. Repairman agreed that he couldn't fix the defect, but I would have to call customer service.

Called "customer service" again and they insisted repairing or replacing it was at their discretion according to the contract. I let them know I understood what the contract said, but told them that the repairman couldn't fix the structural damage.

After several calls to Corporate and speaking with extremely rude "customer service" agents, they picked up the sectional, charging me $100 pick up fee and a 20% restocking fee! I totally understand a business charging a restocking fee for merchandise returned for no reason, but I should not pay to have a "brand-new" sectional which is damaged and defective picked up and restocked.

Worst experience I have ever had buying furniture.

DO NOT SIGN UNTIL U INPSPECT

We had a dining room set delivered to our home. We noticed a 6 inch hole in the back of the buffet and brought it to the attention of the delivery men. They then stated for us to call the 866 customer service number and report the damage. As they were about to leave I then asked again how to get this hole fixed. They repeated call customer service and they assured me that they would repair or replace. They then asked me to sign their paper work so they could leave. Within mintues I called customer service and they would not repair or replace because I did not notate on the manifest that merchandise was damaged. At that instant we felt decieved and mislead by the delivery men. They gave us the wrong info and conned me to signing. There were not words just a line with an X to sign. I spoke with different people at customer service and have got no response. Lesson learned do not sign anything unless you are satisfied with your merchandise. Inspect your furniture thoroughly and dont listen to the delivery men, make sure you notate on their manifest that merchandise was damaged. This company has nice furniture but their integrity is questionable.

No Customer Service

We purchased a desk set on a Saturday. It was delivered as promised on the following Monday; however, it was delivered missing critical hardware to install the desk return. We have called their Customer Service Department for 2 days to find out how we can get the missing hardware. No one has returned our call. We have called the store directly. No one has returned our call. Seems like they were really pleased to take our money, shake our hand and then disappear. Be careful. Be very, very careful.

GREAT Clearance Items

My family and I went to The Dump looking for deals. We like eclectic things and have good taste. We looked quickly through their "new" items, but didn't really find anything "dump" worthy in price. Then we went back to the clearance area and found so many items, we felt like kids at Christmas. I am a bit of a handy man and can repair furniture to some degree.

We found:

- A 4' x 4' white mantel mirror with beveled glass to go over our fireplace for $39 and I painted it black.

- A 3' x 4' mahogany mirror with beveled glass that had a couple rough spots, but it was $19 and I easily fixed it.

- A 4' x 4' mahogany table top for $29 and mahogany legs for $19. The legs did not come with the table, but you would never know it now. This is easily an $800 item.

- A large, tufted leather ottoman, but one of the legs was broken. It didn't have a tag, so we asked a salesperson and he offered it to us for $30. We jumped on it. I glued the leg back together better than new and you can't tell it was damaged. It was normally $495.

- A nice nightstand with turned legs for $39. This was the only disappointing item because one of the legs is a different length than the other 3, but I was able to level it and hid the one "bad" leg until I can permanently solve the problem.

So, we spent about $200 total for about $2000 worth of furniture. All the items look wonderful (unless you are small like my daughter and are able get under the night stand to notice the one short leg) and my wife bugs me at least once per month to go back. I don't think I would buy new furniture there or if I did, at least not have it delivered.

Not so good price

The prices aren't even close to as good as advertised and the service is non-existent except for pushy salespeople. The furniture they have is not even very good quality. I won't be back.
