I don't normally do Yelp reviews but I feel it necessary in this case.I have 2 older, special needs beagles and I was apprehensive of taking them to a big box groomer. Hilliard Pet Salon was recommended from a friend and when I talked to them for the first time they completely put me at ease. My stinky beagles looked and smelled excellent, but most importantly they were calm and relaxed when I picked them up. I could go on and on, but bottom line is it's very rare in today's time and age to get excellent service like this from any sort of business so that's why I took the time to do this review. Thank you again ladies..see you next month!

I have been going to Hilliard Pet Saloon for several years , but after today's experience, I will never return. I was scheduled to drop off my (2) dogs a standard poodle ,and Jack Russell mix this morning at 8:15; however, the shop owner didn't arrive until 8:35;(which is always the norm for her) whereby causing me to be late for doctors appointment.. I called at 11:45am to check on their status and was told that dogs wouldn't be ready until after 2:30. After I brought my dogs home, I notice my terrier had been cut too close to skin , whereby uneven clumps of fur where removed. In the past the owner stated that if I had any concerns, to give her call. When I attempted to express my concerns about the cut, she became very defensive and belligerent. She stated that "you the customer had been always rude and impolite when I have dropped off the dogs. She also stated that she "bends over backwards" in order to accommodate me when I need the dogs groomed . "This is coming from business owner that constantly late every time she schedules the dogs for the first time slot in the morning." Maybe she doesn't understand that customers might become brass, if they have to wait extra 15-20 min past their scheduled appointment time. Also, I had just paid $105.00 plus $10.00 tip, before noticing the horrific grooming she had done on my terror. She stated that she couldn't perform the same grooming procedure on my terror as in past , because dogs fur hadn't grown out fully. I stated to her that she "supposedly" is professional at this, and she should have called me prior" scalping" my dog. After stating the obvious to her, you would think she would have wanted to come up with resolution, in order to keep my business, rather than being offensive to a customer that been going to her shop for past (4) years. In attempting to state my concerns, she hung phone up on me! In closing, this isn't the first time I had problems with her grooming my animals. Be Aware!

If you want a frou-frou business with high-schoolers who have no idea what they're doing, don't come here! But if you want a down to earth place with employees who really love and know animals, this is your place. I've been taking my dogs to Michelle for years - they get me in fast, are flexible on drop off and pick up times, and always do a great job. (and some of my animals have been NO picnic to groom!) They always charge reasonable rates. I say don't hesitate to give them a try.

i love it!

I have been taking my little boy to the salon for 2 yrs. Michele is great with him. Both the groomer make us feel welcome every time we come in. He always is happy and smells great when i pick him up.

I have gone to the Hilliard pe...

I have gone to the Hilliard pet salon twice in the past year. The first time was wonderful, I was a bit nervous about having my dog groomed but they did a wonderful job. Then about 7 or 8 months after the original visit we scheduled a time for our little girl to go in and have the same treatment done. I was impressed at how quickly they remembered my dog just by saying her breed and name, and was excited to have her go in again. When I took her in she asked what we were doing today, I told her the same as last time only to learn that they failed to write down what they had done on her card. So I explained that the last time she was in we did a full treatment and that she just needed to be trimmed up a bit and shaped and to do nails and bathing and the whole bit. Left feeling great and excited that my little girl was going to be groomed.

My mother in law picked her up for me since I was going to be at work late. She called and sent a picture, she almost didn't leave with our dog because she couldn't believe that was my dog and knew I would not be happy. They shaved my dog!! (not a trim like I had said) completely shaved....1. you don't shave this dog, and 2. you don't shave any dog in December! I started crying when I saw her, I was embarassed for her. She has never liked having blankets or anything over top of her, and that night she buried herself under a blanket knowing that her beautiful coat that distinguished her was gone.

I called the salon and left them a message that I was unhappy and I would appreciate it if someone could contact me so that I could speak to them and to make sure it was acknowledged and noted. No one called me back the next day, but being around the holidays I let it go and decided to wait until after the holiday to try to contact them again. Holiday passes still no word from them for 3 days so I call back....I still cannot get a hold of anyone. No one ever called me back, or took my calls to acknowledge the situation. This to me is the worst part and very bad business. Yes I was very upset that my dog was shaved when she was not supposed to be, but I'm more upset by the lack of customer service. I had hoped to simply handle the situation directly with them and make some sort of restitution. Their lack of responsibility and respect for their clients and caused them to lose a customer. I do hope that they don't make the same mistakes in the future.

I have been a customer of he hilliard pet salon for 8 years I Have always had a great experience with them and they work well as a team and treat the dogs with respect like they would their own they are kind hearted people and i woudnt take my dogs anywhere else

The owner of this business is ...

The owner of this business is very rude. She gave her word to have our dog go first so that she would spend as little amount of time as possible in the cage. She lied. She left our dog for two and a half hours and when I called to see what was taking so long she acted as though it was no big deal. I immediately picked my dog up, at which time she came from the back and started berating us with rude and negative comments and could not confess that she lied to us. She has lost our business and I will make sure that everyone I know hears about it.
