Brown County Mental Health Center, located in Green Bay, Wis., provides inpatient, outpatient, nursing home, and community and contract services. Inpatient services are provided in three specialty units serving children and adolescents, adults, and alcohol and drug abusers. Outpatient services are provided for the mentally ill and substance abusers, including individual, family and group therapies, medication management evaluation, case management, specialty clinics, occupational therapy and court-ordered assessments. A parent education program aimed at increasing parenting skills and a community support program aimed at maintaining the chronic mentally ill in the community are also components of the outpatient service. Nursing home services are provided to persons with behavioral problems and requiring nursing care or protection in a more than 100-bed skilled nursing facility. Treatment is also provided to developmentally disabled patients in the center's more than 80-bed intermediate care facility.
