I don't recommend Mountain Mov...

I don't recommend Mountain Moving, after a bad experience which included unprofessional presentation of a delivery request with the charges not clearly stated, poor and late documentation and then excuses and justifications that were not accurate after I complained to the Better Business Bureau. They may be able to handle a basic, cheap move for you...but you will get the level of service you pay for if it is cheap and likely not be treated very well at the same time, in my opinion. Stay away is my recommendation. The office sounds good when making the deal, but the moving experience was not good for me.

It is unfortunate but even per the BBB there was just no satisfying this customer no matter how we tried. We moved over 20,000 pounds of household goods for this gentleman up to the mountains in inclimate weather with no damage and even threw in an extra person at no charge. He wanted us to take an 800 lb gun safe down the side of a muddy mountain in the rain and place it in his basement. Which we deemed hazardous and offered other options including taking it down the basement stairs. He chose to have us bring the safe back to our facility where we stored it free of charge wich allowed him to close out his storage unit and we asked for the reimbursement of our expenses to redeliver it to him in the mountains. He refused payment to us and then paid another company to pick it up from us and deliver it down his basement steps.

BAD EXPERIENCE FOR SURE

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, after my dealings with Mountain Moving. This company made a verbal agreement with me to handle an extenuating circumstance during my household goods move, but after being paid in full they 'forgot' about the agreement and proposed to charge me an additional amount to complete the service after a 6 week delay. More importantly, Jeff was extremely rude, unethical and unprofessional both during the move and after wards when requesting a delivery signature, after which he added the request for additional payment. This company did not provide a receipt for the work provided, until requested later in person. In responding to my Better Business Bureau complaint, the company offered a unique and untrue version of events, including blaming me and my family for harassing phone calls and indicating that they had recorded our conversations. Pretty sad stuff, as I can stand by any of our comments and questions, as well as the fact that this company did not honor our agreement and then made up some good excuses to try to justify their unacceptable behavior. The company advertises the ability to deliver gun safes on the Yellow Pages, but does not have the required equipment to do so in a dependable manner. They may be local and cheap, but don't depend on them to meet commitments. The company did give me some cash to try to make up for breaking the dehumidifier on my safe, but then added the comment that "I probably don't need the dehumidifier in Colorado, and they were only actually required to give me $0.60/pound in compensation." Not too funny, as I had asked Jeff to tie up the power cord when moving, but he did not listen to me and the damage then happened when moving. Listening to the customer, being professional when problems happen and treating your coworkers professionally are all good ideas...which I did not see in practice at Mountain Movers, only excuses. I finally paid them their requested amount, as they held my goods 'hostage' and would not fulfill delivery due to what they said was unreasonable customer behavior. My payment in no way indicates any satisfaction on my part, only my desire to get my property back and avoid them making any extra money to dispose of a valuable gun safe. This company advertises an A+ BBB rating, which I can only say seems to be driven by their membership to BBB and not an actual reflection on customer experiences. I depending on this rating, and was NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER. So, proceed at your own risk.

Unprofessional Moving Company

This is the absolute worst moving company I have ever dealt with. I have moved several times in my life and I have never seen such unprofessional behavior. I highly recommend NOT to ever use this company. I hope I never have to encounter someone like their owner ever again in my life.

I can only assume since this is so generic and with the dates involved that this review is related to the other bad review as that gentleman stated he would have each member of his family post poor reviews.
